NCP forms 3-member panel to complete draft

A meeting of the NCP Central Secretariat at Baluwatar formed the committee.
According to NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the panel’s mandate is to incorporate suggestions and recommendations made by leaders during the party’s Standing Committee (SC) meeting.
“The panel will submit final draft of the regulation within three days,” Shrestha said. On Thursday, the 45-member Standing Committee had designated the Central Secretariat the right to finalise the regulation.
The panel will complete the political document in close coordination with party Co-chairmen KP Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Once the panel finalises the regulation, the Central Secretariat will endorse it at its meeting scheduled this Tuesday. It will then be submitted to the Election Commission and sent for printing as well. The meeting will also discuss the current political situation.
A team led by General Secretary Poudel comprising SC members Dev Gurung, Beduram Bhusal and Central Committee member Khimlal Devkota prepared the draft regulation that is in the process of being finalised.
According to Devkota, a member of the Statute and Regulation Drafting Committee, the statute has proposed 32 departments that would support the ministries and provide policy support to the government.
The central departments would comprise 35 members including a chief, deputy chief and secretary.
The central committee will depute chief and deputy chief, while the department would select its secretary. The department of provincial committees would be 15-member strong and that of the districts would be 11-member strong.
