KMC forms 1,138-member management body for chariot procession

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has formed a 1,138-member committee for conducting the traditional chariot procession of the Seto Machchhindranath deity.
The time-honoured tradition of towing the chariot carrying the idol of the deity commences from March 25 this year as per the lunar calendar.
Guruju (chief priest) Neel Kaji Shakya will coordinate the committee comprising of representatives of local stakeholder organisations and bodies as the Guthi Sansthan, Nepal Electricity Authority, Nepal Scouts, Nepal Red Cross Society etc. The Chief of the Kathmandu District Administration Office is also the member on the committee.
The KMC mayor and deputy mayors are the patrons of the committee. RSS
