Transport office staffer faces graft suit

A separate corruption case has been filed against two staffers of Shyakar Trading Company Limited—Dinesh Bohora and Thakur KC—on charge of abetting Rijal.
The CIAA has sought punishment against Rijal under Clause 7, Clause 3 (1) and Clause 3 (1f) of the Corruption Prevention Act. If convicted, she will be liable to pay a fine equivalent to double the embezzled amount, serve two and a half years in prison with a maximum penalty of Rs2.5 million. Half of that penalty has been sought from her accomplices as per Clause 22 of the Act.
Earlier in June, the CIAA had filed a case against eight officials of the Transport Management Office in Itahari for failing to deposit Rs612.2 million revenue into the state coffers.
