Edu Ministry boasts 17 achievements in first 100 days

The draft policy, designed with the aim of reducing schools from various disaster risks, is a part of what the MoE has announced as one of its 17 key achievements during the government’s first 100 days.
The ministry has said that a high-level committee has also been formed to review the entire education policies and status of their implementation from school to university level. The committee will recommend the ministry about new education policy that fits to the new federal and local structures, the MoE has said.
A total of 197 high schools have been selected as model schools, and new kits have been developed to evaluate and monitor school programmes at local levels. As per the new state restructuring, the ministry said, it has deployed officials and resources in various districts while a booklet has been prepared on mobilisation of budget and about projects and programmes received by schools at local levels.
During its first 100 day, according to the MoE, it also developed a course for open schools while additional 65 schools were provided with technical supports to run virtual classes, taking the number of schools running virtual classes to 100.
Declaring Sindhuli, Manang, Ilam and Gorkha as fully literate districts, bringing 25 public colleges in the far and mid-western regions under the affiliations of the Far Western University and Mid Western University, plan to set up a body to monitor and ensure quality of higher education, and process to amend the Education Act to provide permanent status to temporary teachers are also on the MoE’s list of achievements.
