Election Commission has expressed dissatisfaction against the recent cabinet expansion by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. The EC says the cabinet expansion is against the election code of conduct.
The EC released a statement immediately after PM Deuba added three ministers and one state minister on Monday and asserted the cabinet expansion is against the code of conduct of Provincial Assembly and House of Representatives.
The EC had on August 31 given a 7-point instruction to the Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet that asked the government not to make any political appointments to any government post or entity.
The EC views the cabinet expansion could foil the fair, independent and clean election environment.
