Three officials of Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology were caught red-handed with bribe in Bhaktapur on Thursday.
A team mobilised from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested chief of Taxi-Tempo unity at the department, Bikas Dhwaju, two senior non-gazetted officers Durga Prasad Regmi and Thakur Ram Khadka this morning.
The CIAA officials caught them red-handed while accepting Rs 500,000 bribe at Sallaghari-based Universal Tandori Cafe, CIAA spokesperson Jibraj Koirala said.
The arrested officials had demanded a total of Rs 675,000 in order to certify 450 taxis
