Kantipur Foundation hands over Rs 11.4m flood relief fund to PM Deuba

Kantipur Foundation has handed Rs 11.4 million collected in the Kantipur Flood-Landslide Relief Fund to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Kantipur Media Group's Chairperson and Managing Director Kailash Sirohiya handed over the cheque to PM Deuba amid a special ceremony at PM's residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday.
The fund was established by the Kantipur Foundation, a philanthropic initiate of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), to provide relief to the flood-landslide hit families in various parts of the country.
Kantipur Foundation, which coordinated the fund, had deposited Rs 1.1 million as seed money. Nepal Investment Bank, Siddhartha Bank, NIC Asia Bank, Sanima Bank, Prabhu Bank and Nepal Medicity Hospital also deposited Rs 1.1 million each for the cause. Rest of the amount was donated by general people.
KMG's Chairperson Sirohiya urged the PM to immediately provide relief to the flood-hit families with the amount. In response, PM Deuba thanked for the contribution made by KMG to help the flood victims.
Medicity Hospital's operator Upendra Mahato, Siddhartha Bank's CEO Sambhunath Gautam, NIC Asia Bank's CEO Laxman Rijal, Sanima Bank's CEO Bhuwan Kumar Dahal and Prabhu Banks' CEO Ashok Sherchan and Nepal Investment Bank Deputy General Manager Bijendra Suwal were present during the progarmme.
Editor-in-Chief of Kantipur Daily Sudheer Sharma and Editor-in-Chief of The Kathmandu Post Daily Akhilesh Upadhyay and KMG's Assistant General Manager Mahesh Swar were also present in the handover ceremony.
