The classes in the private schools of the Kathmandu Valley have been affected with the nationwide general strike called by Netra Bikram led Communist Party of Nepal.
Although the strike has not impacted the vehicular movement, the schools have decided to pull down their shutters citing security reasons.
Private and Boarding Schools' Organization Nepal (PABSON) General Secretary, Rajendra Baniya, said many schools were already on holidays after the conclusion of the third – term examinations.
ANNISU (Revolutionary)'s Vice Chair, Lal Bahadur Tamang, said the strike was announced to protest the arrest of the party's cadres and with a demand that private schools withdraw the decision to charge high fees to students. RSS
