NC unveiling poll manifesto today
The ruling Nepali Congress is unveiling its manifesto for upcoming local level polls on Tuesday. The panel led by senior NC leader Mahesh Acharya had prepared the document following consultations with the office-bearers and members of the party’s central committee, party’s lawmakers and the parliamentary party as well as held discussions with presidents of all the party’s sister organisations. Ministers representing the party in the government were among those included in the manifesto preparation committee as invitee members.
Members on the committee include Ram Sharan Mahat, Farmullah Mansur, Man Bahadur Bishwakarma, Narayan Prakash Saud, Dr Shekhar Koirala, Umakanta Chaudhari, Bhismaraj Aangdambe, Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Chandra Bhandari, Kamala Panta, Dhanaraj Gurung, Pradip Poudel, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, among others. As preparations for the local level polls are in full swing across the country, the party has started its campaign on social networking sites like facebook and twitter, creating separate pages targeting mostly youths.
The party has also fixed a slogan ‘Peace and Constitution in Nepali Congress leadership: Campaign of prosperity in Nepali Congress leadership’. The party has also formed the Election Mobilisation Committee under senior party leader Ram Chandra Poudel.
