Voting in RR Campus amid tight security

Some journalists, who were on the campus premises to cover the election, were at the receiving end.
Three journalists, including Keshav Thapa, a photojournalist of The Kathmandu Post, were injured. The petrol bomb was hurled during one of several clashes that took place between police and various student unions who were protesting the elections.
Scores of students and police personnel were also injured.
A total of 350 police personnel were deployed around the campus.
Some student unions were against holding the FSU election at the college.
The student unions that had decided to boycott the election are affiliated to the ruling CPN (Maoist Centre), Naya Shakti Nepal and Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal.
