Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who has maintained that he was not aware of any impeachment motion being moved, is said to have been waiting for the NC to take a decision, as the largest party’s support would be a must to get the motion endorsed in the House. In addition, failure to take the NC in confidence could even have an effect on the coalition.
According to Maoist leader Mani Thapa, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has spoken to PM Dahal and therefore the Maoist Centre is waiting for NC’s decision.
Minister for Energy and Maoist leader Janardan Sharma said the party would discuss the impeachment motion against Karki at a meeting of the party headquarters scheduled for Saturday. He claimed that the NC was also positive about supporting the impeachment motion.
