The conference, which will see a participation of 420 journalists from 52 countries, will have 60 workshops and panel discussions, largely focused on experience sharing by the team of Panama Papers, data journalists. The presentation by a team of Pulitzer prize winning journalists from Associated Press and Walter V Robinson of the Boston Globe, who bagged the award for investigation on paedophile priests in Churches, are the major highlights of the event.
A four-day event is jointly organised by the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) and Centre for Investigative Journalism Nepal (CIJN), and supported by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung of Germany.
“Rather than discussing on theoretical issues, the conference focuses on practical aspects of investigative journalism,” said Shiva Gaule, editor at CIJ. “We hope this conference will provide a good learning to Nepali journalists and motivate them for the investigative reporting.”
