Police arrested 60 more fake examinees on the second and final day of Korean language test on Sunday.
The EPS Korea Section of Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) said that the examinees were arrested from various exam centres in Kathmandu Valley. Invigilators had arrested 31 imposter examinees on the opening day of the test on Saturday. Only successful candidates in the Korean language test, also known as the Test Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) Language Test, are eligible to apply for jobs in South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS). However, passing the language test does not guarantee a job.
The EPS Korea Section said that 57,100 aspirant migrants appeared in this year’s language test conducted from 18 centres in Kathmandu and three in Pokhara. A total of 60,626 candidates, including 8,404 females, have submitted the application forms for this year’s test.
