Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged all the democratic forces to be united to avert the threat lurking on the democracy in the country.

At a programmme organised by Democratic Thought Society on its 22nd anniversary, leader Deuba reaffirmed that the NC, the major opposition party, will continue safeguarding democracy alongside defending the government's arrogance which he claimed is functioning overlooking the biggest party in the Legislature-Parliament - the NC.

Similarly, NC central committee member Arjun Narsingh KC argued that the intellectual community should endorse or protest any issue after analyzing it scientifically.

Likewise, Nepal Bar Association (NBA) Chairman Sher Bahadur KC remarked that the country has not achieved any other significant progress besides the appointment of the Head of the State, Head of the Government and Speaker of the House.

Referring to the dissenting Madhesh-centric political parties, NBA Chairman KC said that the Association was going to send its mission to various districts in Terai to take stock of the situation there in a bid to support the government in resolution of the differences with the disgruntled Madhesh-centric political parties.

Also speaking at the programme, Chairman of the Society Dr Kedar Narsingh KC pledged that the Society will contribute to the protection of human rights and establishment of rule of law.

Echoing with KC, Vice-chairman of the Society, also Chairman of the National News Agency (RSS), Kulchandra Wagle reaffirmed the Society's commitment to safeguard democratic norms and values. RSS
