Kathmandu
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started a Wi-Fi facility inside Ratna Park.
The service was inaugurated by Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa amid a function on Friday.
Ram Sapkota of the KMC said six access points with a broadband speed of 5 Mbps have been installed inside the park. “With the current infrastructure, 240 people can use the internet service at a time,” Sapkota said.
Harisharan KC of the KMC Environment Division, said: “We used to have visitors asking if there was a Wi-Fi hotspot around because many of them wanted to get online to use social media or do their works while enjoying the peaceful environment offered by the park. I’m sure such visitors will enjoy Ratna Park even more now,” KC said.
