Visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has termed Sushil Koirala, the former Prime Minister of Nepal and president of Nepali Congress as man of high thinking and simple living.
While signing a condolence message in Dasarath Stadium where the dead body of Koirala is being kept, she signed a condolence message on the behalf of Indian people, government of India and visiting all party delegation. “Sad demise of former prime minister and leader of Nepali Congress Sushil Koiralaji has deeply saddened the leadership, government and people of India,” she wrote in the condolence book adding a dedicated leader, Sushilji was man of high thinking and simple living.
Nepal’s crucial political transition was successfully concluded under his statesmanship, she said.
On behalf of people and government of India, we convey our heartfelt condolences and India has today lost a true friend, she wrote.
Before signing the condolence message, INC leader and former minister Anand Sharma, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, CPI-M secretary general Sitaram Yechury and JDU Chief, Sharad Yadav had paid homage to Koirala.
The Indian leaders were received by senior Nepali Congress leaders in the venue.
She has left for Prime Minister residence to meet PM KP Oli who is visiting India later in the month.
