Former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai and his supporters have started works for the formation of a new party.
During a meeting of his supporters on Wednesday, Bhattarai entrusted fellow former Maoist leader Devendra Poudel with the responsibility of a nationwide campaign to rope in prominent civil society leaders, thinkers, businessmen and cadres from other party before formal announcement of the party. “Poudel will coordinate campaign to form the proposed new political force, while Bhattarai will lead the party formally once it is registered,” said leader Kumar Poudel, adding that it would take around two months to complete the process.
