Newly elected President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has left her party position and responsibilities so as to perform her duties as the President of the country.
Issuing a press note on Thursday, Bhandari said that she is leaving the party post and responsibilities to preserve the unbiased dignity and constitutional duty of the presidential post.
Bhandari is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy amid a special programme being organised at Shital Niwas in Maharajgunj at 3 pm today. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Kalyan Shrestha will administer the oath to President-elect Bhandari.
