Hospital, health professionals receive 'Earthquake Heroes' award
A hospital and three health professionals have been awarded with 'Earthquake Heroes' by Swasthya Khabar Patrika, a monthly magazine, amidst a function on Tuesday for their remarkable contribution in delivering health services in the aftermath of the earthquake on April 25.A hospital and three health professionals have been awarded with 'Earthquake Heroes' by Swasthya Khabar Patrika, a monthly magazine, amidst a function on Tuesday for their remarkable contribution in delivering health services in the aftermath of the earthquake on April 25.
Health Minister Khagaraj Adhikari conferred the award to Dhading District Hospital as Best Hospital, Dr Tejendra Saud of Rasuwa District Hospital as Best Doctor, Jiwan Kumar Malla, chief of District Public Health Office, Dhadging as Best Public Health Officer. Similarly, Best Nurse was awarded to Gyani Khadka, senior nurse at Sindhupalchowk district hospital and Best Health Professional was awarded to Umesh Prasad Chaudhary, in-charge of Bhimtar Health Post, Sindhupalchowk.
Speaking at the function, Minister Adhikari commended the efforts of health professionals to impart health services during the time of crisis. He hoped that the awards will motivate them to work better in the future disaster and normal times.
The group has been organising the programme for the past five years.
