The southern part of the Ghantaghar-based Pancha Kashmire Takiya Jame mosque has been destroyed by the Saturday earthquake. The 500-year-old mosque was built during the regime of King Ratna Malla.
Of four minarets on its roof, two collapsed and while remaining two were badly damaged by the earthquake. However, there was no human casualty in the catastrophe.
The south wall of mosque was also demolished by the powerful tremor, according to Maulana Talukdar Khan. RSS
