No justice even after staging hunger strike for the past four months
Panchabir Lama & Sailimaya Tamang of Belkot, Nuwakot have been staging fast-unto-death for the past four months demanding justice for their daughter, Sushila Lama, who was allegedly murderedFather Panchabir and mother Sailimaya of Sushila are on a hunger strike near Bhadrakali temple from June 14, 2014.
Sushila was found hanging in the house of Bijay Shrestha of Koteshwor on February 8, 2013. However relatives of the deceased claimed that Sushila did not commit suicide but was hanged after murder.
Stating that the government neglected their demands of action against the guilty even after staging peaceful hunger strike, Panchabir warned of taking to the streets if their demands were not met.
He complained that although leaders of different parties, representatives of organisations, civil society, bodies concerned and human rights activists met them and expressed commitment to take up their case, it was not implemented into practice.
Sailimaya said that her daughter was hanged after forcing her to consume poison as she was two-and-half months pregnant. She also claimed that Sushila was found dead with finger marks to her neck.
The couple said that they would be compelled to launch a stern agitation if action was not taken against the guilty as soon as possible after carrying out fair investigation into the case as their daughter was killed after sexual harassment.
Sushila was a domestic help at the house of Shrestha since 2065 BS.
