Badri Prasad Pandey elected HoR member from Bajura

Nepali Congress candidate Badri Prasad Pandey has been elected as the House of Representatives member from Bajura.
As per the final results declared on Sunday morning, Pandey won the election race defeating his closest competitor Karna Bahadur Thapa of the CPN-UML by a margin of 5,437 votes.
Pandey got 31,786 votes against Thapa who settled at 26,349 votes.
The ruling alliance has been elected in all HoR and province assembly seats in the district.
Pandey was a lawmaker from the Nepali Congress in the second Constituent Assembly and was also elected as a member of the National Assembly in 2017.
With Pandey’s win, the Congress has secured 57 first-past-the-post seats with final results of 164 out of 165 constituencies declared.
The UML is placed second with a win in 44 constituencies. The CPN (Maoist Centre) is placed third in the seat tally winning 17 seats as the CPN (Unified Socialist) is placed fourth with registering victory in ten constituencies.
The vote counting is underway in Dolakha where a candidate of UML has maintained his lead.
