Nepal has been assured of at least one silver medal in the 19th Asian Games underway in Hangzhou, China.
Arika Gurung secured the medal for Nepal as she entered the final of the women’s karate 68 kg category. She defeated Kai Yan Ho of Hong Kong 8-4 in the semi-finals held on Saturday.
She will compete against Sofya Berultseva of Kazakhstan for the gold medal.
Nepal women’s kabaddi team settled for a bronze medal after they lost to India 61-17 in the semi-finals at the Xiaoshan Guali Sports Centre in Hangzhou, China on Friday. This was the first medal for Nepal at the Asian Games 2022 so far.
