An 11-minute goal against Nepal was sufficient for Bangladesh to enter the final of the SAFF U20 Men’s Championship in Male, Maldives, on Wednesday.
Wins over Bhutan and Sri Lanka, alongside a draw against the host, saw Nepal reach the semifinals of the tournament.
The National Football Stadium in Male was filled with Bangladeshi supporters. And with a loud support, Bangladesh were more confident than Nepal.
Taking a short corner, Bangladesh worked on a training-ground move in the 11th minute.
Md Mursed Ali gave a short pass from the corner spot and was on the receiving end as he came closer to the 18-yard box from the right flank. With what looked like a trivela, Ali then crossed the ball inside the six-yard box and found Md Manik, who headed the ball, in the far post.

Nepal were lucky in several instances as Bangladeshi players could not find the back of the net despite good combinations and penetrations.
Nepal too had some chances, created with great difficulty, but could not convert any.
