A Russell’s viper, a highly venomous snake, has been recovered from Belahani in ward 7 of Bardaghat Municipality in Nawalparasi West.
Local residents spotted the snake and informed Durga Lamichhane, a snake rescuer, on Tuesday.
The snake was rescued and kept at the Division Forest Office for research.
According to Dr Chhabilal Thapa, a snakebite treatment specialist, the Russell’s viper is a highly poisonous snake species which is found in some places of Lumbini Province.
