Headless body recovered in wheat field

Kapilvastu
A human body was found buried in a wheat field near Pipari village in ward 4 of Kapilvastu Municipality on Sunday evening. Local residents immediately informed the police after they saw some body parts at the incident site.
The security personnel dug out the body, with the head missing, from a pit and sent it to Lumbini Province Hospital for postmortem.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Oli, the body belongs to a man in his mid-twenties, who was buried near the irrigation canal in the field.
Investigation officers suspected that the man was murdered some three days ago and buried to destroy evidence. The body is yet to be identified.
A detailed investigation is going on about the crime, said police.
