Police arrested Janjire Tharu, a local of Mainawar, late on Sunday on charge of murdering Sanchuriya Tharu, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Hikmat Bahadur Bohora, who is also the spokesperson at the Bardiya District Police Office.
The victim, a 42-year-old Thakurbaba-5 local, was found dead on February 28. Her body was found by the roadside, near the Nepal Telecom Office in Bhurigaun.
An investigation by the police revealed that the victim and the accused were constantly in contact with each other via phone calls.
As per the call details, the two had engaged in a phone conversation on the day of the incident as well, police said.
The victim’s husband had filed a police complaint, accusing Janjire of the murder.

Sanchuriya had left home on February 28 to buy medicines for stomach ache. Her body was discovered the following morning, along with her bicycle.
