The Piplamod section of the Nagdhunga–Naubise road will remain closed every night for 10 days starting Monday, as road improvement work gets underway.
According to Keshav Prasad Ojha, chief of the eastern section of the Nagdhunga–Muglin road project, the road will be closed from 11pm to 3am daily until May 14. Travellers have been asked to use alternative routes during this period.
Work is currently focused on upgrading a 1.8-kilometre stretch, where the existing blacktop will be completely removed during night hours. Only emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass during the closure hours, Ojha said.
The Nagdhunga–Muglin road is being upgraded in three separate segments. Over 10,000 vehicles travel this highway daily.
