Gajuri area tense following death of a student by passenger bus

A student died after being hit by a passenger bus in Gajuri of Dhading district on Thursday.
According to the police, the passenger bus en route to Gorkha from Kathmandu hit a six-year-old boy while he was crossing the road on a zebra cross. The deceased was a grade 1 student of Adarsha Secondary School.

Gajuri Rural Municipality Vice Chairperson Sharmila Bisural informed that tensions have flared following the incident and students and locals are protesting on the streets.
“The irate protesters have set the passenger bus on fire and vehicular movement along the Prithvi Highway has been halted due to the protests,” said Bisural.
