Armed Police Force sub inspector dead in road accident

Armed Police Force Sub Inspector Laxman Prasad Yadav, 48, was killed in Siraha on Sunday after being hit by a vehicle used by alleged liquor smugglers.
The incident occurred in ward 1 of Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality, near the Nepal-India border.
According to police, Yadav, stationed at the Badahari camp, was part of an eight-member patrol deployed to intercept a liquor-smuggling jeep heading towards India. At around 3am, the jeep hit Yadav while he attempted to stop it and fled the scene.
Yadav was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Lahan, where he was pronounced dead, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Kumar Paswan, spokesperson for the Siraha District Police Office.
Police have launched a search operation to locate the vehicle.
