A woman and a baby were burnt to death in Kapileshwar of Janakpurdham on Wednesday.
According to the police, 23-year-old Priyanka Mahato was found dead in ward 16 of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City on Wednesday evening.
The nine-year-old baby girl, who was found with severe burns all over her body, died on the way to the hospital, said Superintendent of Police Bhuwaneshwar Tiwari. Her body has been burned beyond recognition.
Police assume the victims are mother and daughter.
The bodies have been sent to Provincial Hospital Janakpurdham for postmortem.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, Tiwari added.
