Locals protest seeking justice for man who died of bullet injuries
The protestors are seeking action against the security personnel who opened fire, relief for the family of the deceased, and the resignation of the mayor of the municipality and the Chief Minister of the Madhesh province.Post Report
The family members of a 25-year-old man who was fatally shot by the police on Wednesday and the locals of Simraungadh Municipality staged a demonstration on Friday demanding justice for the deceased.
The protestors are seeking action against the security personnel who opened fire, relief for the family of the deceased, and the resignation of the mayor of the municipality and the Chief Minister of the Madhesh province.
According to Chief District Officer of Bara, Nawaraj Sapkota, the man died of bullet injuries received during a protest held outside the municipal office in Simraungadh by the municipal staff and government school teachers against delayed payment of their salaries.
The body has been sent to Narayani Hospital in Birgunj for a post-mortem.
“So far, it is clear that the man died of bullet injuries, but the type of bullet used has yet to be determined. It will take some time for the post-mortem,” said Chitraranjan Sah, the medical superintendent of the hospital.
