Former lawmaker Chanda Chaudhari, who is also a central committee member of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, has joined the Nepali Congress.
She was welcomed by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba by offering the party's active membership amid a function at the prime minister's official residence at Baluwatar on Wednesday.
She became a lawmaker of the federal parliament under the proportional representation category in 2017. She was later picked as minister by the then prime minister KP Sharma Oli. But after 18 days, the Supreme Court had invalidated their appointments.
