Nine out of 19 killed in Dhading bus accident identified
24 injured passengers receiving treatment in Kathmandu hospitals.Post Report
Nine out of 19 people killed when a bus fell 200 metres off the road in Bhaisigauda, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality in Dhading, have been identified, police said.
The bus was heading to Kathmandu from Pokhara when it plunged into the Trishuli riverbanks at around 1:15am on Monday.
The deceased include British national 24-year-old Stewart Dominic Ethan; 40-year-old Bibek Bastola of Pokhara; 63-year-old Chandra Bahadur Kunwar, originally from Waling, Syangja, now living in Nagarjun, Kathmandu; 40-year-old Om Kumar Malla of Byas, Tanahun and 30-year-old Engineer Thakuri of Tripurasundari, Dhading.
Likewise, the deceased are 55-year-old Bishnu Maya of Shuklagandaki, Tanahun; 42-year-old Lopsang Gole of Bauddha, Kathmandu; Hari Prasad Sigdel of Bhiman, Tanahun; and 55-year-old Nabindra Shrestha of Tansen, Palpa.
Twenty-four injured passengers are receiving treatment in Kathmandu, with 14 at the National Trauma Centre and 10 at the National Hospital, Kalanki.
