A Nepali Army helicopter is being dispatched to rescue six Indian tourists stranded by heavy snowfall in Danigad, in ward 8 of Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality of Dolpa district.
Chief District Officer Junu Hamal said the helicopter was expected to reach the area shortly to evacuate the tourists. Arrangements are being made to cover the rescue costs through the Disaster Management Fund, she said.
Several days of continuous snowfall in the district have disrupted daily life in high-altitude areas and increased risks for tourists.
The District Administration Office has urged residents and visitors to take precautions and remain in safe locations, warning that continued adverse weather could create further risks.
