Four killed as sand-laden truck plunges 500 metres in Lalitpur

Four people were killed after a sand-laden mini truck met with an accident at Baundanda of Konjyosom Rural Municipality-1, in Lalitpur, on Friday night.
Superintendent of Police Naresh Subedi said that the mini truck heading towards Kaleshwar from Lele reportedly went out of control at around 9 pm and plunged an estimated 500 metres below the road.
The driver, 52-year-old Ganesh Khadka of Godawari Municipality-6, Lalitpur, and 42-year-old Ganesh Thapa of the same locality, who was travelling in the truck, died on the spot.
Two other male passengers who were injured in the accident were rushed to Patan Hospital for treatment. However, doctors pronounced them dead upon arrival. Their identities are yet to be ascertained.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
