Three people died in a jeep accident at Mityal of Nisdi Rural Municipality–4 of Palpa on Friday. The accident took place at Ekalfoksing near Chyuribas on the Mityal–Arunkhola road section in Nisdi–4. According to police, eight people were injured.

The District Police Office, Palpa, said that the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 3908), which was travelling from Arunkhola in Nawalpur towards Rampur in Palpa, met with an accident on Friday.

Police said three people died on the spot. The deceased are 45-year-old Om Kumari Khamcha of ward 4 and 36-year-old Hem Kumari Saru of ward 7. The identity of one of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, according to Deputy Superintendent Hom Prakash Chaudhary of the District Police Office, Palpa.

Local residents said the accident occurred when the jeep rolled backward while passengers were getting off after it failed to climb an uphill road. The jeep fell nearly one kilometre from the road. The injured have been rescued and taken to the Provincial Hospital in Danda, Nawalpur.
