Ncell has partnered with MetLife Nepal to launch a new service, ‘Data Sangai Jeevan Beema’, which allows customers to purchase mobile data packs bundled with life and critical illness insurance coverage.
Under the scheme, users can choose between two packages, Ncell said in a press release on Thursday.
“The Rs99 pack offers 100MB of data valid for three days, along with term life insurance of Rs200,000 and critical illness coverage of the same amount, both valid for 30 days. The Rs39 pack includes 100MB of data valid for three days, with Rs50,000 each in life and critical illness insurance,” the release stated.
According to Ncell, customers can subscribe through the Ncell App or by dialling 1234#. Term life insurance coverage begins immediately after registration, while critical illness benefits start after a 30-day waiting period.
According to Ncell, the initiative aims to expand insurance access across Nepal, particularly for underserved communities, by offering affordable digital enrolment and meaningful protection.
Upanga Dutta, chief consumer business officer at Ncell, said the collaboration reflects the company’s social commitment to extending financial protection at the micro level.
Arun Bahadur Basnet, chief distribution officer at MetLife Nepal, claimed that the partnership enables users to gain peace of mind through a simple data purchase that comes with added protection.
The partnership marks a step towards enhancing digital inclusion and social protection by integrating telecom services with insurance access for millions of Ncell customers nationwide.
