Man killed, wife and son injured as gas bullet hits scooter in Makwanpur

A man died and his wife and young son were injured after their scooter was hit by an Indian gas bullet truck in Makwanpur’s Manahari Rural Municipality-7, Lachka.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Kedar Shrestha of Chautara Municipality-5 in Sindhupalchok district. His 28-year-old wife, Saraswati Shrestha, and two-year-old son, Prabin Shrestha, sustained injuries in the accident.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati, spokesperson of Makwanpur police said that the injured were taken to Alive Hospital in Chitwan for treatment. Saraswati’s condition is reported to be critical, while Prabin is said to be out of danger.
The family was travelling from Chitwan to Hetauda on their scooter when the collision occurred at Lachka along the East-West Highway. The gas bullet, reportedly en route from Chitwan towards Manahari, struck the scooter from behind, police said.
Shrestha’s body has been kept at Hetauda Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police have taken the driver of the gas bullet, 55-year-old Mohammad Matin of Bihar, India, into custody for investigation.
