Three killed, two injured after factory wall collapses

Three workers died and two others were injured when a wall collapsed at a feed factory in Shantikunjatol in Ratnanagar Municipality, Chitwan, on Wednesday morning.
According to the District Police Office Chitwan, all five are employees of the Kisan Feed Factory. The incident occurred at around 9:45 am.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal said 35-year-old Sukaram Darai from ward 2 of Khairahani Municipality, 54-year-old Resham Damai originally from Gorkha but currently residing in ward 12 of Ratnanagar, and 45-year-old Kamal Gurung the same Ratnanagar ward died in the incident.
They succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur.
The injured—39-year-old Jitendra Mahato and 40-year-old Ankaj Prasad Tharu, both from ward 12 of Ratnanagar—are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Police said both sustained injuries to their hands and legs and are out of danger.
“The wall of the feed warehouse collapsed, trapping workers under the debris and feed sacks,” said Superintendent of Police Govinda Puri, who inspected the incident site.
