A 23-year-old man died and another was injured in a motorcycle accident near Naubise along the Paubdi–Borangkhola road section in ward 3 of Rainas Municipality, Lamjung, on Monday night.

Police said Sameer Thakuri of Timure died after the motorcycle went out of control and skidded into a roadside drain at around 11:50pm. He was taken to Sahodar Hospital in Dhamilikuwa but was declared dead on arrival.

Pillion rider, 26-year-old Devraj Thakuri of Timure, was injured in the crash. He received first aid at the hospital before being referred to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara for further treatment.

Police said the body has been sent to Province Hospital in Beshisahar for a postmortem. Further investigation is underway, according to Police Inspector Raj Kishor Sah Teli, information officer at the District Police Office, Lamjung.
