Bardiya
A 25-year-old man went missing after a crocodile attacked him in the Geruwa River at Rajipur of Geruwa Rural Municipality-2 on Monday. The incident site is near Bardiya National Park.
The victim, identified as Bibas Tharu, was watering his buffaloes when the attack occurred, according to Saroj Mani Paudel, the park’s information officer and senior conservation officer.
Security personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and park staff have been deployed for the search. However, efforts were hindered after wild elephants chased away the rescue elephant sent by the park.
Earlier, on August 5, Rupmilan Tharu, 19, of Madhuwan Municipality-1, was killed in a crocodile attack at the Khauraha stream.
