Post Report
Visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at his office in Singha Durbar on Sunday.
Bishnu Prasad Rimal, chief advisor to the prime minister, foreign ministry officials, and Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava were present during the meeting, according to the prime minister’s secretariat.
Misri arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday morning on a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Amrit Bahadur Rai. He landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 9am and went straight to Soaltee Hotel, where he is staying.

During his stay in Kathmandu, Misri will meet President Ramchandra Paudel, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also leader of the main opposition in Parliament, and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba.
Misri is in Kathmandu to hand over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation to Oli and discuss the agenda and logistics of the upcoming trip.
The two foreign secretaries will also hold delegation-level talks on connectivity, development cooperation and other bilateral matters. Rai is hosting a dinner in Misri’s honour.
This is Misri’s second visit since assuming office in July last year. He last visited Kathmandu in August 2024 on a familiarisation trip.
Oli’s visit this time will take him to Bodh Gaya instead of New Delhi. Modi will host him in the Buddhist pilgrimage town, where the two leaders will hold talks, followed by lunch and a joint press conference on September 17. Oli is also scheduled to visit Nalanda University and address a special gathering.
