Siblings drown in local stream in Thori

Two brothers, aged four and eight, drowned while bathing in the Dhendu stream at ward 2 of Thori Rural Municipality, in Parsa district on Tuesday.
Police identified the deceased as eight-year-old Ansh Kathayat and his four-year-old brother Ayansh, the sons of Manoj Kathayat. Locals spotted the boys floating in the water and rushed them to Thori Health Post, where they were pronounced dead.
The bodies were taken to Narayani Hospital in Birgunj for postmortem. Further investigation into the incident is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Kishor Lamsal.
Similarly in Siraha, a 14-year-old boy who drowned in the Balan stream on the Siraha-Saptari border was found dead on Tuesday.
Ghanshyam Yadav, son of Shiva Kumar Yadav from ward 3 of Sakhuwanankarkatti Rural Municipality in Siraha, went missing on Monday morning while bathing near the bridge over the river along the Postal Highway.
A team of divers from Bardibas recovered his body around 11:30am on Tuesday, about 50 metres south of the bridge.
