Prime Minister Oli returns from development conference in Spain
Attended the fourth international conference on financing for development in Seville.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli returned home on Friday after attending the Fourth United Nations International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD-4) held in Seville, Spain, from June 30 to July 3.
Oli travelled to Spain on June 28 for the conference, where he discussed challenges faced by least-developed, small island, and vulnerable countries in securing both immediate and long-term investment for sustainable development.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the FFD-4 summit focused on mobilising sustainable finance for development, with a particular emphasis on the needs of least developed countries in the post-pandemic context.
The once-in-a-decade conference brought together global leaders, international institutions, and civil society to shape strategies for financing global development.
While in Spain, Oli held bilateral meetings with various world leaders, including a courtesy meeting with King Felipe VI and talks with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On his return, Oli was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh; Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey; and Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal. A military troupe honoured the prime minister with a guard of honour. Senior government officials and security chiefs were present at the airport for the reception.
The prime minister did not address the media upon his arrival. Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai informed the media that prime minister will not attend the media lounge and read out the press note regarding the visit that highlighted the Spain visit, his bilateral meetings, engagements and other activities.
The Nepali delegation accompanying Oli included his wife Radhika Shakya, Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Foreign Secretary Rai, Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyaya, and Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Raj Kumar Shrestha.
