Two dead, one critically injured in jeep accident in Palpa
The vehicle veered nearly 300 metres off a rural road in Birikot. Police say investigation into the cause is ongoing.

Two people died and another was seriously injured when a Bolero jeep veered off a rural road and plunged nearly 300 metres in Purba Khola-5, Birkot of Palpa district on Saturday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Malla, informed that the deceased have been identified as 46-year-old Binod Dhungana of Chirtungdanda, Bagnaskali-1, currently residing in Majhuwabesi, Butwal-11, and another unidentified man, estimated to be around 45 years old.
The vehicle was en route from Aryabhanjyang to Rampur when the accident occurred. Dhungana died while undergoing treatment at Lumbini Medical College, Prabhas, and the other victim passed away at Mission Hospital in Tansen.
The driver, 30-year-old Raju Khadka of Butwal-11, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Lumbini Medical College.
Police said the vehicle fell roughly 300 metres off the unpaved Aryabhanjyang–Rampur road section.
Upon receiving information, a team of police personnel from Purba Khola Area Police Office and Tahu Police Post, along with local residents, carried out rescue efforts and transported the injured to hospital.
The cause of the accident remains unknown, and further investigation is underway, said police.
