Man dead in motorcycle accident in Kalikot

A man died following a motorcycle accident in Kalikot district on Sunday night, police confirmed.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old Dhan Krishna Pandey of Khadachakra Municipality-3, was seriously injured after his motorcycle veered off the road near the Tadi bus park while he was returning home to Bhaurukuna.
According to District Police Chief Tek Bahadur Rawat, the accident occurred as the motorcycle lost control while ascending the campus road from the bus park. The bike reportedly plunged some 600 metres down a hillside.
Pandey sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Kalikot District Hospital. As his condition worsened, he was referred to a hospital in Surkhet, but he passed away en route at around 4 am on Monday near Paltada in Dailekh district.
Pandey was a prominent local figure, serving as the chair of both the Tadi Bazaar Management Committee and the Palta Mahadev Community Forest Users’ Group.
Police said further investigation into the accident is ongoing.
