The house arrest of Nawaraj Subedi, the coordinator of the joint movement committee, was lifted on Tuesday.
Subedi was placed under house arrest after a violent pro-monarchy protest on March 28.
In a statement, Subedi said the police surveillance on him has been removed, allowing him to resume his work with the committee. “I was under surveillance since March 28. As of today, the surveillance has ended, and I am returning to my duties with the committee,” Subedi said in a statement.
During his house arrest, Jagman Gurung looked after the responsibility.
The committee is advocating for the restoration of the monarchy and a Hindu state in Nepal.
