Two people were killed in separate accidents in Madi Rural Municipality, Rolpa, on Monday.
An 80-year-old man, Devaraj Gharti, died after being struck by a bus near Ghartigaun in ward 2.
The accident occurred around 11:30am when Gharti was walking home and was hit by the vehicle. The bus, driven by 32-year-old Prakash Bohara from ward 9 of Runtighadhi Rural Municipality, has been impounded, and the driver is in police custody.
In another incident, the body of 42-year-old Kharka Bahadur Budha Magar was discovered near Peddikhola in ward 1 of Madi Rural Municipality. Police believe he was electrocuted while attempting to fish using a live electric wire. His body has also been sent to Rolpa Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
