A 70-year-old man died after falling while waiting to apply for his national identity card at the District Administration Office in Salyan. The deceased, identified as Tika Ram Oli, was in the queue for his national ID on Thursday.
Oli, accompanied by his nephew and son-in-law, was standing in the office compound when he suddenly fell unconscious.
According to Police Inspector Baburam Basnet of the District Police Office, Salyan, Oli sustained a head injury from the fall. Although he was rushed to the district hospital for treatment, he died on the way, he said.
Oli's body has been kept at the district hospital for post-mortem.
